FINAL COMPETITION FOR 2009
Karate-do Goju-Kai Competition
The final tournament of 2009 was held on Sunday 22nd November at 9.00am. With the much appreciated help of all our instructors and many of our black belts the competition ran like clockwork with three rings required. Many thanks to Nebashi Sensei , a 5th Dan Shotokan instructor currently training with us for his help in adjudicating on the day.
Students have risen to the challenge and their were some great clashes in both kata and kumite with the decision based on the narrowest of margins. The total point scores below for the four IKGA tournaments held in 2008 are listed below.
Congratulations to Caris Stewart who for the second year in a row is our Grand Goju-Kai Inter-Club Champion for 2009. Caris a Bronze medallist at the 5th IKGA World Championships excels at both Kata and Kumite and has amassed 24 points for the year 9 points ahead of her nearest rival Cassidy Pethick.
